Very sharp but a little too heavy for me

I have used gingher for years and loved every one I have purchased

Ernst • November 1, 2017

I was very skeptical of these scissors. I have used gingher for years and loved every one I have purchased. I didn't think it was possible to love a pair of scissors more than I did the gingher. But I love these more. They're comfortable in the hand, and cut so smoothly. I highly recommend these. I am a professional costume constructor so I use fabric scissors a lot. I have been telling everyone about how great these are. I am a very surprisingly happy customer

  • Yes, I recommend this product

Very sharp, excellent hand feel

Sophie26 • July 13, 2018

I purchased these as a result of a Facebook offer (the first time I've ever done something like that) and immediately had buyer's remorse--until they came. Quickly. When I first used them, I was sent back in time to my teen years (decades ago) when I first learned to sew, using my mom's Wiss shears. The feel was the same, the cut was the same. I have used shears and shears: Fiskars from the cheap ones to the high end tailor's shears; Gingher from embroidery scissors to pinking shears; and my latest sewing scissors, Kai. Of those, I liked the Fiskars tailor shears and the Kai scissors. But while good cutting instruments, they don't have the hand feel of the Guggenhein. Just this evening, I was cutting through four layers of cotton fabric, and one of those layers had a flat felled seam, and the Fiskars didn't have a chance, but the Guggenhein went through the layers like butter. I have no idea how well they hold an edge--if they don't, I'll let you know.

  • Yes, I recommend this product

Been using Gingher’s since 1994, but I’m using Guggenhein’s now.

Donna Williams • November 27, 2018

These shears were a gift from my daughter. I am a die-hard Gingher’s fan, but I like the weight of these shears. They cut easily thru all kinds of fabrics. When I reach for my scissors, I’m finding that I pick the Guggenhein ones!
